EXTENDED FAMILY OUTDOOR PHOTO SHOOT
Living in the Cotswolds, I’m blessed to photograph many extended family outdoor photo shoots throughout the year. An extended family photo shoot makes the absolute PERFECT birthday gift for a parent or grandparent and also becomes a real treasured experience and memory of the time together. My shoots are unique in that I do not pose my families. The focus of my shoot is allowing you to connect and engage with each other and in order to get this natural emotion, I encourage lots of talking and interacting with each other. We spend a lot of the shoot talking about your family, some of your favourite memories, best family holidays, favourite moments of your children growing up and funny memories you have had. I shoot whilst we talk, so the majority of my photos are captured during mid conversation. The result is natural and emotive images that allow your personalities to shine though. And my families never have a chance to feel awkward as they are too busy sharing memories with me:)
This family was such a joy to shoot. Mum and Dad , their two daughters and son with their respective partners. No children on this one…. just adults!! We had such fun and I think these photos portray their affection for each other and natural emotion on the shoot. Q: WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
My outdoor family shoots are ‘play based’ for children, meaning that I get your kids to engage in activities that distract them from the camera, and allow me to get natural shots with genuine smiles and interactions. No pressure PLUS Happy kids! I never ever ask a child to say ‘cheese’ as it creates an unnatural smile and I’m all about authenticity. I want you to recognise your child’s familiar happy expression in your photos and feel that I have captured their ‘spirit’. Photographing them whilst they are engaged in play or interacting with you, is how I achieve this.
