EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER IN THE COTSWOLDS

This absolutely fabulous 40th birthday party was every event photographer in the Cotswolds, dream. The birthday girl had hired out the most gorgeous Cotswold stone barn and was hosting the party over an evening and the following afternoon. The evening party was was a toe tapping event with a live band followed by the Saturday afternoon party, which was a more chilled affair centered around family time, hot dogs and ice cream.

A live band and a Victoria’s Secret model…..

The party started on the Friday night with the theme being that everyone dressed in white and the outfits were just amazing! See if you can spot a ‘Victoria’s Secret model complete with a full set of swan wings’ in my gallery.  I really enjoyed seeing the incredible outfits that the guests had put together. My photography style for this sort of event is very much documentary based and I like to mingle with guests a little as well as taking a  step back and shooting from afar.  Cheltenham based live band, The Revue, certainly got the ‘party started’ and even though it was a chilly night, the fire was roaring and guests were outside dancing the night away.  Tom’s Bespoke Bartending provided a luxurious outdoor mobile bar unit and the ambience created among a chain of fairy lights was just magical.  All in all a really special evening and what a blessing to be surrounded by so many loved ones on your 40th birthday.

Bouncy castles and a spot of hail

The following afternoon I was back to photograph the more ‘family orientated’ side of the party. I arrived to find the Cotswold stone barn completely redecorated and was now boasting an enormous bouncy castle, a personal Cotswold ice cream van and an array of ‘vintage style’ party games for the guests to enjoy.  In typical British weather style, the afternoon started with sunshine and then was quite quickly taken over by menacing black clouds and quite a heavy hail storm. Within a few minutes, however, the sun was out and glistening off the wet bouncy castle and the festivities continued. One of my most favourite shots from the afternoon party is the one of the little boy, wet and freezing from the rain, standing outside the ice cream van waiting for his ice cream. It just shows you that nothing gets in the way of ice cream, even English weather.

If you are looking for an event photographer to capture the festivities and most importantly, the ambience of your next event, please do get in touch with me.
